Beef

We raise organic, all natural, grass-fed beef. The animals eat organic clover and grass and are never subjected to artificial hormones, growth promotants, or antibiotics. For more information about the many benefits of eating grass-fed meat, click here.

You can purchase our beef by the quarter, half, or whole animal, as detailed in the chart below. We encourage our customers to find friends and family with whom to share a whole beef. We can also work to try to pair you up with other customers who are interested in splitting a quarter, half or whole animal. If a quarter of a beef is too much for you, or you just want to try a smaller quantity to make sure you like it (you will!), we also sell individual cuts of beef. Please contact us for more information about this.

It is possible for bones and offal to be included in your order, but if you are purchasing less than a whole beef, please remember that you are sharing a whole animal and so the availability of the bones and offal will depend on the customers you are sharing your beef with.

Your order will be comprised of approximately the following cuts of meat.

Q: Do you deliver?
A: We prefer that you pick up your meat from the butcher shop, but can arrange for delivery if necessary. We also will be adding a shipping option soon, please contact us if you would be interested in this.

Q: How long will the beef or lamb last in my freezer?
A: The meat will last at least one year in your freezer, but we recommend that you buy for what you will use in one year or less.

A: Absolutely! We would love to show you our ranch. Please contact us to arrange a time.

Q: I don’t want to buy an entire beef. Can you help me find other people to split it with?
A: Yes, we will sell beef by the quarter and harvest the animal when all four quarters are sold. It is, however, less expensive to purchase a whole animal so we encourage you to purchase a whole animal and find friends to share it with.

Q: Can we just buy steaks or specialty cuts from Stemple Creek Ranch?
A: We do sell some smaller quantities of beef and lamb, as supply permits. If you are interested in buying individual cuts of meat please contact us and we will try our best to accommodate you. We also will be adding a shipping option soon, please contact us if you would be interested in this.

Q: How much freezer space do I need?
A. A quarter of a beef takes about four cubic feet of freezer space, or about six brown grocery bags. A half of a lamb takes about one cubic feet of freezer space, or about two brown grocery bags.

A: In a quarter of beef, you will get approximately:

Testimonials

"The 100% grass-fed beef we bought from Loren is the best beef we have ever tasted; both flavorful and juicy. It is quite comforting to eat beef and know exactly where it came from and how it was fed. This was our first experience buying from Loren and we just put in an order for more."
Carolyn & Doug
Rancho Murieta, CA

"The beef has been getting rave reviews! My husband says it is the best beef he has ever had (and he is a traveler and an eater!). Our family has enjoyed a beef shank, a stew and a T-bone steak already…looking forward to more. Thanks, Loren!"
Kelly
San Anselmo, CA

"We LOVE buying our beef and lamb from Stemple Creek Ranch because we know where the meat comes from, it's fresher than anything else we've tasted, and it's got a high source of vitamin A and D because of it's 100% grass-fed diet. Also, the animals are breathing clean, ocean air, and are not raised on a feed lot next to the freeway. We appreciate the direct relationship we have with the rancher, Loren, and know that he would never sell us low-quality meat. It feels good to buy meat the way our parents and grandparents did, without any middle man. Best of all, Loren's meat TASTES GREAT!!!"

“My family and I absolutely loved our lamb from Stemple Creek Ranch. It was excellent and a great value too.”
Ralph

"We LOVE our beef and lamb! Since this was our first time ever doing this we really didn't know what to expect. I cannot tell you how impressed we are with the quality and flavor - beyond words. I used to smother my burgers with cheese and condiments. No longer with this ground beef - it has such a strong deep flavor on its own. Simply delicious! We will be ordering from Stemple Creek Ranch again next year only it will be more beef and lamb."
